Making more lists!!!
OK--Christmas is coming too quickly!!! There has been so much going on here (the reason for the lack of postings).
Christmas cards went out last week. Posting our Christmas card to you all my blogging buddies--soon!
I still have at least one gift to make--thankfully; however, that Christmas get-together, isn't until after Christmas so I still have tons of time to finish that.
We have had some illness here. Thankfully, it looks like for the moment everyone is feeling better!
Still have a little more shopping to do. Need to wrap several gifts!!!
Going to a Christmas programs tomorrow (that is if everyone is healthy)!
OK --sounds like I should not be sitting at the computer. If I am looking for a sitting activity, I should move either to gift wrapping (who sits when they wrap gifts?) or go uncover my sewing machine. I need to finish the skirt I started for Lexi to wear to yesterday's church Christmas program. (Oops!) Thankfully I had a back-up plan. I did make a couple of really cute headbands. I'll try to post them another time.
I better get going--I have so many things to be doing I can't make up my mind where to start.
Hope your Christmas plans are going great!

Christmas before Thanksgiving
I don't think I have ever started decorating for Christmas before the day-after Thanksgiving. However, this year--I have started. Each year I complain about how hard I work dragging all this stuff out and I only have it out for a month. So to help with that, I decided it pull it out early. Now I don't have a tree up; however, the day is not over--yet.
Just a little sneak peak at some of the things I have been working on.
Well there you have it!! A quick glance at the Christmas stuff we have out so far. With the help of some spray paint and several $1 packages of Christmas ornaments --it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

The candy-cane themed mantel
I have seen pictures like this--but made my own 3-D version. The white, silver and gray shelf

Christmas is coming
Has anyone really done the math on this? According to my homepage, there are 38 days and 16 hours (roughly) til Christmas. WOW--where has the year gone?
There are so many things to be doing!!!!! I have already started my shopping. This week I need to order my Christmas cards. So here is a really great tip.
If you remember my card from last year?
You can send a 4 X6 print in the mail as a post card!! Really saves on postage and you can still have a lot of fun with it.
I like to back my print with some card stock--you can just glue 4X6 index cards to your print if you like. I makes your print a still sturdier.
Of course, I always like to complicate matters by having to stamp some color on the back. (And then I also have look for a few days that it isn't raining or snowing before I mail--so the ink doesn't run).
And Christmas wouldn't be the same if it didn't require all family members to come to the table and sign their name around 100 times.
Anyway--back to the original reason for this post. Snapfish is running a special right now. (I did something like this last year). If you place a $10 order you can get up to 365 prints FREE!!!!!! You can also do 100 prints or just 50. I received an e-mail about this but you can also see it at my cousin, Janelle's blog here. This offer would make your cards FREE (of course, you would pay for the postage)--but what a deal.
This is a must-get done this week thing. Pictures have been taken. Thank you Tara!! Now, I must be going. Lots to do. I think I am doing some crafting today!!!
Have a great day!

A blast from the past
Last week, I received the new L L Bean catalog. As I was thumbing through it I ran across these.
I had these in High School! Seriously, they are back!!! Now if you go back just a couple of posts you will figure out that that was only 20 years ago.
Hopefully, if the shoes are back----so is my favorite thing from high school.. . . . . .

Back from a blogging break
Not that I have been anywhere or done anything exciting in the past three weeks since my last blog post--I just have not taken the time to sit down and update. Almost everyday goes by and I think I should really update the blog and it just never happened. So here it is the long awaited update.
First of all,we saw the end of the marching band season. Lauren really enjoyed her first year in color guard. She enjoyed the time she spent with her friends in color guard and in the band. We attend the awards ceremony. She received this bar for her letter jacket.
For my birthday, which was during my blogging break, I received this lovely crock-pot from my husband and the kids.
I sent my brand new crock-pot to work with my husband, the company that he works for was having a chili cook off!! The crock-pot came back in one piece and we (I am not sure what he did) won 6th place out of around 20!!!! Of course, there was only a prize for 1st--but it was still fun.
Finally--I have spent a lot of time sewing recently. I have finally finished a new purse for myself--along with a new matching checkbook cover, driver license holder and wrist key lanyard. I don't have pictures of those yet--but I am enjoying those.
I also whipped up an apron for my nephew's wife-to-be. I helped with a bridal shower for her last weekend and decided for her gift to make her an apron and give her the latest copy of our church cookbook.
I am planning on making a couple more like this as Christmas gifts. I already have the fabric and now am just looking for an hour or so--so I can get going on that.
Well that about sums up my 3 week vacation from blogging. I have been checking in on you my blogging buddies even if I have been a bad girl and not always commenting.
Hope you are all have a great day and enjoying this beautiful weather.

Pictures with Tara
Several weeks ago, we meet up with my friend Tara and she took our school pictures and family picture. She always does a really nice job. Check her blog out here .
She did a great job. You will be seeing more of these pictures soon. Like when I finally change them here on the blog or when Christmas cards come out in less than 8 weeks. But this one is one of my favorites from that afternoon with her.
My mom and brother and his family also joined us.
If you are on Mom's Christmas card list, you may be seeing this picture again. Just act surprise, when you see it again.
Have a great weekend.

70th Anniversary
I am not sure how, but it is already Friday and I am still blogging about what happened last weekend. I told you it was a huge and exciting one; however, I never imagined it would take me a whole week to blog about it.
Anyway, on Sunday evening we celebrated my Grandparents 70th Wedding Anniversary. Talk about a milestone. They both celebrated their 91st birthdays this year also.
This picture was taken at their 50th Anniversary!! (Wow--a lot has changed.)
We have so much to be thankful for. They have always been such excellent examples for us. They have taught us all the value of faith, family and work. Their support throughout the years is a gift we will cherish forever!!! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!! We love you.

EXCITING WEEKEND
Here it is, the post I promised yesterday. It was definitely an exciting weekend. On Saturday, I attended my 20 year class reunion. Doesn't that sound strange? I don't feel that old. Well anyway I went. I had a really good time!!!
Here is the Homecoming Banner we painted 20 years ago--(who has to store that thing?)
Pam, Joni and I in the old cheerleader pose. (Petula you were missed!!!)
The highlight of the evening, was no--not the way to loud rock music from the 80s and 90s!! I actually got to meet a blogging buddy!!! Yes, I met Carol from Joy in the Journey!!! I graduated with her husband Shawn. I have been reading her blog for at least a year and half or so and finally got to meet her in person.
That was so much fun. I realized once I got home I talked to her quite a bit, but I don't think I said more than hello to Shawn (oops, sorry Shawn--hope you are doing well.). Carol says on one of her next trips down to IN we get together again and we are in hopes that Tara will join us!!!
Well--there is actually more to my exciting weekend; however, that is enough excitement for day. I don't want to overwhelm you all.

BREAKING NEWS
I am sure by now, most of you already know that Matt broke his hand at work a week ago Friday.
Sorry, that I am now just getting around to posting about it.
As you can see it still swells on occasion. His hand is usually in a splint--but he can take the splint off to wash his hand.
This picture was taken on Sunday. Well over a week after it happened!!
Matt is doing pretty well. He is learning to do a lot of things with his left hand. Thankfully he has a low maintenance hair style and he can feed himself. I am tying his shoes and his tie for church on Sunday. Hoping for a speedy recovery.
We had a huge and EXCITING weekend. I'll post more about that later. I don't want to waste all material in one post.

No-mess pumpkin carving
The kids are always coming home with fun websites from school. So Lyndsi introduced me to this fun and mindless activity. Try THIS for fun. Pumpkin carving for those of us who don't want to make the mess.
Seriously--for a fun break from your day--give it a try. This site has other fun games (for the kids) to play too!!!

TENNIS TREATS
Tennis season, after 6 pm today, is officially over for Landon. Sectional (for Varsity only)--starts Thursday. So the mothers of the tennis players are taking turns this week sending treats for our guys.
I was lucky and got to work with Tara from My life with 6 boys found here.
She doesn't care that I am a PROJECT HOG!!! She called me a blessing--thanks Tara!!!!
So we chatted about it a bit and decided to do something simple. A drink and a little snack. I think they turned out real cute.
The ladies in the office liked them. Speaking of them, I took a little something for them too. They are putting up with us crazy mothers all week. They deserve a little something!! They didn't get the Star Crunch--think of the calories I saved them!!
Hope the boys enjoy their treat. Thanks for letting me hog the project, Tara.

A LOT ABOUT NOTHING
Country living has it's drawback. Like the year that the farmer plants corn in the field next to your home.
Before:
After:
Now that is much better. We can now see the bus coming!!! I have neighbors to the east again!! YES!!!
Now for a question. Do you guys have tons of these butterfly/moth bugs at your house?
Does anyone know anything about them. They are all over at our house. Thankfully they are outside. Just was wondered about them.
Speaking of BUGS--Lexi woke up this morning with FEVER!!! GRRRR--I think this is about the 6th week we have been struggling with something. However, I hear we are not the only ones that are struggling with this. Hopefully we can get healthy soon!!!
I was looking back at some older posts this morning and ran across the one I did before Mother's Day and noticed I didn't ever post the finished product. Yes, this is the flower pot we painted and jazzed up for Matt's mom for Mother's Day. She really liked it. Funny story: she called me about a month and a half after and asked what kind of glue I had used. My heart sank and I said--why did the gems all fall off. She said no!! She said it is holding up wonderfully. She had covered a bowling ball with glass gems and took it outside and they are started falling off.
I think I will now go work on a craft project of some sort--I was going to organize something; however, with Lexi home sick I am a little depressed and I am going to craft instead of clean.
Well today's post is a lot about nothing, but it was a least something new to read!!! And there were pictures too!! Two points for me!! Have a great day.

What's on your kitchen floor?
OK--strange question I know, but here at the Lehman household we are in desperate need of some new kitchen flooring. You see we have carpet under our table. Yes, I said we have carpet under our table that feeds 6 children and 2 adults--almost everyday. (Yes, we eat everyday, but sometimes we just don't eat at the table--once and a while we go out or sometimes we got to Grandma's you get the idea. I just didn't want you to think I was starving my children. )
So please let me know what you have and what would work well for messy eaters!!! I would like something that is inexpensive, almost indestructible and easy to clean? Is there something like that out there?
HELP we need your input!!!!!

IT'S BEEN A WHILE!!
Yes, I am still here!!! I know that it has been a while since my last post. However, it is not like I haven't been doing things.
Let's see, here is a very quick recap of the past couple of weeks. (In mostly picture form!!)
Tennis Matches (I quit counting how many!!)
Homecoming Parade (which you can guess requires our favorite flag twirler to practices 3 mornings a week!)
Thank you to Roger and Tara for sharing their sidewalk with us, so we could watch the parade!!
Show-n-tell project
Took some pictures of Murphy (why I am doing show and tell??)
Cards
Made some cards quick to mail out!! That reminds me, my card group is starting up again next week. This may be the card I take for that day?
Dress for Lyndsi (this is a fun little dress that you can put together real easy for the pattern on-line @http://www.polkadotchair.com/2010/06/tuesday-tutorial-tiered-pillowcase.html)
I have also been working on re-organizing some drawers and fun stuff like that. (no pictures yet)
Oh yes, and how could I forget, the kids have passed around this fun cold germ and for the last month. Logan had it the worst, he ran fever for several days and missed 4 days of school and took two visits to see a doctor!!! (no picture of that either)
Well that covers most of what I have been up to. Hope you guys are having a great week.
