The Party Weekend

Thankfully Mom will only be 60 once!! It was the party that would not end!! But what fun we had!! As you recall Ub, Boog and I ran to the school of Friday to wish her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (Which by the way Ubby can't quit saying: Happy Birthday, Grandma!!)
So the real party got into full swing on Sat. On Sat. evening we went to McDonald's for supper!! (Obviously we are in Berne, check out the clock on the wall.)
After supper we took in a show!!! A good time was had by all. Except for Stacey, who had to work. We were kind enough however, to call him and check in before the show started.
The official-official party was on Sunday afternoon at Swiss Village Social Corner (the retirement home where my grandparents live.) (Mom was teased many times that her party was a retirement home.)
I was really pleased with how the whole thing turned out. Gwen brought all the pretty balloons, napkins, plates and stuff to go with the table favors and centerpieces, that I made. Now be sure to rush on over to the Party Gallery and Gwen can help you too. Use my name and I am sure that won't add more than 15% to you final bill. LOL
Table Favors:

This is dessert! I had to show you how awesome these plates looked with everything!!
The kids served the adults supper. I won't go into details; however, nothing major was spilled and no one was burned.
After a great meal (thanks to everyone who helped with the food), we enjoyed talking with each other. We a great time!! We were sad however, my Grandma Marge was not able to be there, she had had a stroke the day before and was in the hospital. I love this picture of my two Grandpas talking to each other.

It was a lot of fun and I am sure we will all remember these special days for many years to come.

Pottery piece

I purchased this piece of pottery back in October, from my cousin April. (You know the one who sells Pampered Chef, she is also a potter.) I just loved it and have just never purchased any fresh flowers to put into it.

Finally over the weekend the Irises in our flower beds started blooming, so I cut some ran them in and put them in my pottery piece. I know this has a special name but I can't think what it is. I am looking forward to filling it all summer long with cut flowers from outside.
I might as well fess up, I am a little bit addicted to flower gardening. I just love playing in the dirt to see what grows. So this is your warning you will probably see lots of flower pictures.

The flowers from a different view!!

Pampered Chef Favorites

Don't ever ask me a question if you really don't want an answer. I commented this morning on Jessica's blog about having lots of favorite Pampered Chef products-she asked what they were and so I thought--hey that sounds like a great post!! (I have already posted once today, it is allowed to post twice in one day?)
OK without further delay here are 7 of my favorite things. (You must understand, my cousin April has been selling Pampered Chef of about 5 years so I have been to my share of parties. The stuff is great and I love buying new kitchen gadgets--everyone has to eat.)
Easy read measure cups--I love the baby one it measures TBSP!

The chopper!!

The Prep bowls. There are six in this set!! It is amazing how much you can put in each one. I received these a baby gift from April, Adam, Tyler and Janelle!! The mix and chop is a must! It chops you hamburger up into small pieces when you are browning it. It is also a great buy if you don't want to spend a lot at a party!
The smooth edge can opener!! Love this I received this as a gift from my mother-in-law for Christmas. I had the old PC can opener and thought I didn't need this but I am always amazed at how this works?
OK--I really love this! The Santoku 7" forged knife. It is great for cutting up veggies and fruit. Oh yes--last but not least the rectangular baker. It bakes your cakes and bars so evenly and is slightly larger than a 9 X 13 so your lasagna doesn't run all over the bottom of your oven.

Well that is about all, there are so many other Pampered Chef items that I like but I wanted to share these with you.

Hey what is your favorite??????

Pops!!!

On Saturday, Lauren was a server at the POPS Concert. They were asked to dress up (skirt or dress). Which isn't a real problem because she wears a skirt every Sunday to church. However, you know how it is you can't wear the same outfit you wore for Easter. So last week we took Grandma Cathy shopping with us and got a new outfit!!!
We curled the hair--tons of hair spray.
Lauren had a great time. It was neat to see the girls all dressed up. Some girls had on formal dresses with professional up-dos and others were more casual. Of course the boys got in on the act too--some of them even wore ties.

Lauren and her serving partner!!

Lauren and another friend!!

It was a great evening and she had an awesome time. Its so much fun watching her and her friends making all these memories. It is sort of funny, because Landon did this when he was her age; however, it didn't require a special shopping trip, an hour in the bathroom working on hair and taking pictures with him and his friends!! Boys and girls--how different they can be.

Good bye to an old friend

Tomorrow are the city wide garage sales in Berne and my friend Joni is having a sale. She told me to bring anything over that I wanted to get rid of.
So since we are passed the double stroller phase of our lives we have decided to part with old blue. I often wished that the strollers and bike carts kept track of mileage. We have visited many zoos, taken many trips to school (when we lived in town) and we wouldn't want to know how many times we were at the mall.

I have no idea why I think this is sad to see this piece of baby equipment go, but it just is. I wasn't sad when we sold the first double stroller. Probably because we purchased this one. Oh well life goes on, as this stroller finds a new owner we hope that it can continue to go to the zoo, the school and the mall.

Hey to all you garage sale lovers out there, it sure looks like there are going to be some great things available tomorrow. I don't just love the garage sale thing but I am heading out to check out a couple of things. I am really excited about the CR Designs scratch and dent sale. (They are the lasting light people.) The weather might not be the best but you gotta love spring here in IN. Have a great weekend!

Ticked off

It has been a crazy week, trying to get flowers planted, Mother's Day things done, school programs--you know how life can be. LIFE WITH THE LEHMAN'S is no different.

Yesterday, Ub, Boog and I are getting ready to go to the Spring Band and Choir concert; like any good mother I am giving the kids a quick bath. I am thinking "I'll just put them in the tub real quick and we will have time to stop and pick up a couple things while we are out." Oh how quickly plans can change. Once again, here is how the story goes:

Ubby is done and half dressed. Lexi is still in the tub--I am ready to wash her hair.

Me: OK Boog--let's scrub you down. (Put shampoo in my hand)

Me: We need to hurry--(as i put the shampoo in her hair)

Me: (I see something in her hair) Lex what is in your hair?

Lexi: I don't know---Probably food!

Me: (I try to pick it out) Lexi I think you have another tick. (She gets out of the tub)

Me: Let's go to the kitchen so we can have better lighting. Sure enough whatever it is, is attached to my child once again.

Now this one looks different, but since I can't just remove it with my fingers I assume it is a tick. I quickly put my new tick removal skills into high gear. I honestly think the good DR would have been impressed with how well I listened to him and how I used that knowledge.

Keep in mind, this looks different and this one is still moving while being stuck in the top of her head!!! GROSS!!!

I am not going to go into all the details of removal--it was a little more difficult to get out than I had expected! I was able to do it without going to see the good DR; however, I did call and they did ask me to take the critter (the tick not Lexi) in to be checked out since he looked different from our first critter.

Here is the critter ready to go to the DR. He is just crawling around the baggy! (When I took him to see the DR he was still moving!!)

We did manage to make to our concert!! (After a quick stop and the good DR to drop off our friend.)

Lexi--she was a real champ I had to pull pretty hard and she didn't make a noise.

OK--this is just her being crazy I don't think it has anything to do with her meeting with a new tick.

See-- she is just fine!! Well at least as fine as our Boog will ever get!

What's that?

This morning I was working away inside, (because I think it is not going to rain today, and I can't wait to get outside;) and looked out the window and spotted: What's that black spot? For those of you that have been reading my blog from the beginning --you already know what, oh no, I mean who that is.
It's Tina!!!!!
Yep just Tina taking her morning nap!! How nice for her to be napping before 8:30 a.m. Well as you can see:

Tina looks a little mad this morning. Either she is mad because I just woke her up or because she has been waiting for me since 5 am to feed her. Well she can just wait if she can't be any nicer than that!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!
