Bringing the outside in

Yes, I am still here. No, I wasn't taken away after the hail storm. It is just that here at the Lehman's we have been really busy. The days are flying by, only 9 more days of school!!

I have been spending a lot of time outside trying to get the flowerbeds looking good. (That is the project that will not end!!) Yesterday, I finally planted my annuals. (Pictures coming soon!)

Today, since I have laundry to do and cookies to bake (Yes, Deb and Marlene--I am baking the cookies I promised you!) I decided to bring in some of my perennials so I can enjoy them while I work.


I love having fresh flowers in the summer. I made the vase a couple of weeks ago. You too can create one of these. I used an empty glass ice tea bottle (Thanks, Matt!), covered it in jute twine and finished it with some white ribbon. I've placed it by my kitchen sink--too brighten up all the time I spend there.

Hail!!!

This morning, I took the kids to school (long story). As I was dropping Landon off at his door--it is pouring down rain and I said is it hailing??

Before I could pull out onto the road the skies opened up and it was like a snow storm. But it was hail. In minutes the ground was covered!!! I have never seen anything like it. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera along so I have no pictures from the storm; however, we drove straight home and grabbed the camera. Check it out:



This is what was left on the truck once I returned home. My dad would have been so proud--the first thing I did when it started hailing ---was find a parking spot. I can still hear Dad saying, " NEVER drive in a hail storm." I was never sure if that was because he was worried about me or his car?

Project --on hold!!

OK--I am working on a couple of things for Mother's Day. Yes, I know that Mother's Day is this weekend. Anyway ,today I am working on one of my projects (Mom if you are reading this--this is not for you and no you are not getting on like it!) I am ready to go to the next step and the clear gems that I am suppose to be gluing on are MISSING!!!!

Now you see--I am guessing that Ubby took them again or it could be the last time I retrieved them from him and that I put them in a safe place. (You know you put them where the kids won't find them and now either can you!!!! grrrrr)

OK, I will patiently wait till the other kids come home to see if they have seen them--that is if I don't drive into town to buy new ones. However they might not have them here in my small town. :(

On a much happier note, my flower beds are coming back to life and we are going to be seeing a lot of color real soon!!!!
